Senior User Experience Designer

We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer that will be responsible for crafting designs that satisfy business, lawyer, and consumer goals. We are an agile startup, and the ideal candidate has the ability to work in all phases of the user experience process. The position works closely with the entire Avvo team: from developers, to marketers, to the CEO. If you’re looking to make a difference, this is the place for you..

 

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering clear design specifications to development
  • Establishing and enforcing design consistency
  • Staying on top of current UI and design trends
  • Mentoring junior designers
  • Presenting and selling the worth of creative ideas

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in design related field (Industrial Design, Interaction Design or equivalent)
  • 4+ years of interaction design experience, preferably on a consumer-facing website
  • Web portfolio demonstrating direct experience with web-based design and application interfaces
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of internet technologies such as Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and HTML
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with quick project turnaround
  • Exposure to usability testing. Listening lab and/or focus group experience is a bonus.
  • Ability to collect feedback and facilitate consensus between stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills
