Director of Consumer Marketing

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented marketing professional to lead our consumer marketing team and efforts. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will be responsible for managing a comprehensive marketing strategy that fuels the company's growth objectives and builds the Avvo brand name and reputation with consumers. You'll also need to be a deeply creative and well-rounded marketer, with a skill set including cross-channel marketing, strategic partnerships, search engine marketing, events, social media, mobile, email, print and acquisition marketing. To be successful, you need to be a smart risk taker who can deliver ideas, as well as transform them into scalable programs.

Primary Responsibilities:
o Lead Avvo's consumer marketing efforts from strategy to execution
o Develop and implement metrics-driven, ROI-conscious campaigns that bring in and monetize new consumers
o Manage a best-in-class consumer marketing team to execute on the strategy
o Continuously refine marketing efforts through analysis of performance data
o Drive research to better understand consumer users and maximize user value
o Lead consumer segmentation strategy, turning key learnings into actionable marketing initiatives
o Champion ongoing product and feature improvements based on consumer data
o Partner with the product and sales teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, marketing campaigns and product launches
o Produce annual and quarterly consumer business/marketing plans and forecasts

Requirements:
o 10 years' consumer online marketing experience
o 3+ years' experience building and leading a marketing team
o Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field; MBA a plus
o Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; delivering near-term measurable results while building the brand for long-term success
o Expertise in customer segmentation, search engine marketing, content marketing, email marketing, and social media
o Extremely metrics-driven with a proven track record executing on campaigns to meet ROI and performance goals
o Excellent leadership and project and people management skills
o Copywriting skills capable of consistently producing effective marketing copy
o Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done

Consumer Public Relations Manager

As the Consumer Public Relations Manager, you will be responsible for developing strategies for national consumer PR efforts, managing execution of campaigns and securing media coverage for Avvo. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, you will develop and deliver the narrative that communicates Avvo's distinct value to consumers. You will also be responsible for maintaining productive relationships with consumer media and providing day-to-day direction to Avvo's consumer PR agency.

Primary Responsibilities:
o Engage with local and national consumer media to place positive consumer stories in TV, radio, online and print outlets
o Lead development of messaging materials and press releases for local and national consumer PR campaigns and initiatives
o Respond to local issues and mitigate negative press; act as company spokesperson as needed,
o Collaborate with Avvo's marketing, product and sales teams to highlight the key benefits of new Avvo offerings to consumers
o Provide guidance to company executives for media interviews, press conferences, and public presentations

Requirements:
o Experienced professional with 5+ years in consumer PR - preferably in-house at a consumer technology company
o Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required
o Excellent written and verbal communications skills
o Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment against tight deadlines
o Strong organizational skills; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
o Familiarity with top U.S. DMAs and local online/offline media outlets that carry influence
o Established network of media contacts and relationships
o Proven results in placing stories in national and local consumer-focused media
o Solid grasp of social media strategies and tactics

Customer Care Manager

We are currently looking for a Customer Care Manager to take our customer service function to the next level. You will manage a small team, deal with daily customer issues, and work on significant internal projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
o Manage and train small customer care team
o Support daily customer care inquiries and handle escalations as needed
o Set and communicate customer care service level
o Work with sales to revamp phone tree
o Work with product team to come up with solutions to site issues
o Evaluate and revamp as necessary customer feedback methods, internal communication of customer feedback, FAQs, ticketing system and more
o Develop and report KPI metrics to executive team

Requirements:
o 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory customer care role in a call center and/or online customer support function
o Solid understanding of collecting and reporting metrics
o Experience collaborating with both Product and Sales teams
o Experience supporting multiple channels
o Ability to prioritize issues and escalate as needed

Senior System Administrator

We are looking for top-notch Senior System Administrator to oversee both our production and corporate IT infrastructure. And, as senior member of our engineering team, you will become our technical resident expert and team mentor. This position will report directly to our CTO and is a great opportunity to play a critical role in the development of Avvo.

Primary Responsibilities:
o Support and manage all of Avvo IT operations and infrastructure
o Establish and maintain appropriate IT policies and procedures for both production and corporate environments
o Provide guidance and expertise to engineering staff on a diverse array of issues, including: performance tuning, application deployment, systems security, and scalable architectures.
o Remote support and on-call duties
o Manage relationships with outside vendors and service providers

Requirements:
o Minimum 5 years of combined professional experience with Unix/Linux (minimum 3 years of Linux experience). Debian GNU/Linux preferred.
o Solid Experience managing production web infrastructure (Linux, Apache, and Rails) and also Linux-Windows corporate environment.
o Capacity to write scripts for systems automation. Experience in Ruby, Puppet and Chef, and Capistrano is highly preferred.
o Working knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, VLANs, Cisco Routers and Switches, Load Balancers, and Firewalls.
o Experience working with system and network monitoring tools: Nagios, Munin, and Cacti.
o Experience with MySQL is highly desirable. General working knowledge of SQL is required.
o Must have excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
o Must be dependable with a great work ethic, demonstrated initiative, ownership of issues, and exceptional attitude.
o Highly flexible, adaptable, and able to deal with uncertainty in a start-up company atmosphere.

Sr. ETL Developer (6 mo. contract)

We are seeking a Senior ETL Developer for 6 month contract position. This person will assist in the build-out of data warehouse and business intelligence applications using Informatica, Netezza, and Tableau.

Primary Responsibilities:
o Work with end users, business analysts, technical staff, and project team members to plan, design, develop and implement the Sales Force Integration and Customer Datamart projects.
o Perform data analysis using SQL against MYSQL and Netezza environments.
o Create and maintain source to target mapping specifications, detailing integration and transformation logic, using all applicable standards.
o Perform project and support bug fixing by diagnosing, isolating, planning for, and implementing the change.
o Assist with performing change impact analysis on code changes in order to assist with estimating level of effort required for code changes and testing.
o Develop, maintain, and enforce standards pursuant to Informatica mappings, naming conventions, and system processes.

Requirements:
o Minimum 6 Years of Experience in Relational databases. Proficient in creating complex sql's, store procedures, DDL and DML. Data warehouse is built on Netezza though primary source system is MYSQL.
o Thorough understanding of a Star Schema Database as defined by Ralph Kimbal.
o Experience in Data modeling using Toad data modeler tool preferred
o Minimum 6 Years experience designing, implementing, testing, migrating, deploying and managing Informatica ETL solutions: Core functional ETL processing (extract transform, and load). Ability to successfully design, deploy and evolve ETL solutions to meet business requirements.
o Experience managing ETL operations: Job-stream definition and management, parameters, scheduling, monitoring, communication and alerting.
o Experience developing governance for ETL audit, balance and control: Job-execution statistics..
o Balancing and controls, rejects and error-handling, codes management.
o Experience with administration of PowerCenter will be preferred.
o Experience in shell programming.

Requirements:
o Minimum 1-2 years of professional SDE experience developing commercial web applications.
o Proficient in design patterns and object oriented design.
o Strong problem solving skills, excellent coding/debugging skills and the eagerness to learn new technologies.
o Experience using web related technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a must.
